Shelley’s work explores how nature moves, not as a fixed scene, but as something constantly shifting. Across sculptural paper pieces and layered paintings, she revisits the same landscapes in different forms: built, compressed, and dispersed. Each body of work is another way of translating motion, from physical texture, to rhythmic pattern, to soft atmospheric fragments, all rooted in the same visual language of flow and change.

Her practice spans painting, sculpture, and mixed media, informed by decades of experience in both fine art and interior design. This dual perspective allows her to create work that is deeply tactile and visually expressive, while remaining grounded in how art lives within real spaces.

A yearly residency in Costa Rica, spent working alongside close friends and fellow artists, continues to influence her palette and process, reinforcing her connection to color, landscape, and collaborative exchange.

“I’ve been an interior designer for over 30 years, but I’ve been an artist my entire life. It’s who I am and the space where I feel most myself. I love sharing this passion with clients, collectors, and students, and now in collaboration with my daughter Margot and daughter in law Mary. This is a dream come true for me.”

Her work is driven by a desire to engage the senses through color, layered textures, and unexpected materials, creating pieces that feel both energetic and quietly atmospheric.

Mary translates the artistry of Studio 4232 into the digital space, shaping how the brand looks, feels, and connects online. With a focus on social media, digital marketing, and web design, she creates thoughtful, visually cohesive experiences that tell a story. Beyond the studio, Mary works with brands and creatives to refine their digital presence and design meaningful, design-led identities that stand out.
